The Support Unit offers specialist classes that support students from Year 7 to Year 12. These classes cater for the learning and support needs of Students with Autism and Students with an intellectual disability. Every Specialist class has a Teacher and a Learning Support Officer.
Students are given the opportunity to complete a Life Skills Program for all Key Leaning Areas, specifically developed so students can successfully access the curriculum and work at their own individual pace. There is the flexibility of students undertaking some of their learning in mainstream classes. This is dependent on the learning and support needs of each individual student.
All students have an annual Review with parents, carers and an ILP that may include mainstream electives or a combination of Life Skills and mainstream electives, TAFE and Work Experience programs. All Students have the opportunity to complete their HSC in Year 12.
As students enter their Senior Years, students participate in programs specifically designed to support their successful transition from school to work.
