Weekly Events - Week 4B

Dear students, parents and carers and our wonderful MAHS community,

Welcome to Week 4B commencing Monday 11th August. This week is Science Week and this year’s theme is ‘Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language.’ This theme encourages students and teachers across Australia to dive into the wonders of our Universe, uncovering its mysteries through the languages of nature—like mathematics, physics, and the fascinating world of quantum science. Keep an eye out for wonderful learning opportunities that encourage our students to be curious and explore the unknown.

This week we also have our Trial HSC Examinations starting Monday 11th August, the start of Week 4B, and concluding on Friday 22nd August, end of Week 5A. We wish our Year 12 students all the very best during the examination period. You’ve got this!!

In addition, we also have quite a few activities for our students this week. On Monday, we have our Future Teachers Club attending Sydney Zoo and our Japanese International Exchange students and their buddies attending the – Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park Excursion and selected Support Unit Students attending the Ten Pin Bowling excursion. Our Check-In Assessment will be running this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for our Years 7, 8 and 9 students. In addition, we have our student leadership team attending the Greater Narellan Business Chambers Treasurer's Breakfast on Wednesday and on Thursday we have an excursion to the Sydney Jewish Museum for our Support Unit Students  and the continuation of our 7/8 Support Unit Community Access program and the 9/10 Support Unit Sport Boxercise with Maz program on Friday.

I’d also like to take a moment to remind our students of our School Motto: "Be the best you can be." This means demonstrating our CREST values each day by:

✨ Striving to do your best in the classroom and in the playground,

🤝 Cooperating positively with staff and peers, and

💬 Showing Respect in every interaction within our school community.

We also ask families to support us by reminding students that hoodies, tracksuit pants, and tights are not part of our school uniform, and that mobile phones must be kept ‘off and away’ from 8:50am to 3:00pm each school day.

Thank you for helping us maintain a positive and respectful learning environment for all.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Mrs Johnson
