Weekly Events - Week 2B

Dear students, parents and carers and our wonderful MAHS community,

Welcome back to Term 3 commencing Monday 28th July. This year marks 50 Years of NAIDOC Celebrations and in honour of this, our School will commence our official NAIDOC Week celebrations from Monday. The theme for NAIDOC Week 2025 is "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy". This theme celebrates the achievements of past generations and emphasises the importance of carrying forward the legacy of those who came before while inspiring a vision for the future.  We would like to thank Ms. Eagles in advance for her organisation of all the NAIDOC week events occurring at our School this week.

Our usual clubs back up and running! These include Breakfast Club, The Hub, Dance Club, Pokémon Club, Reading Club, our school Vocal Ensemble, School Band, Dungeons and Dragons and more. We also have the continuation of our Support Unit Community Access program for Years 7/8 as well as Year 9/10 Support Sport - Boxercise with Maz, occurring on Fridays.

We have a couple of excursions this week, including the Biological Diversity Study Day for our Year 11 Biology students as well as the Year 11 EAL/D attending a performance of Tuan's Party to expand their knowledge on various English syllabus concepts. We also have selected students participating in the Boccia State Finals - good luck to all students involved, we are so proud of you! Selected students will also be involved in a variety of programs starting this week, including the NRL Schools Program, the NRL - In league In Harmony Program and the West Tigers Empower Program. Our Year 11 students will also be engaging in their report reflections on Monday in the Library.

In addition, we also have a few events coming up, including HSC Showcase Evening on Wednesday 6th August (Week 3) and our Wellbeing Excursions on Friday 22nd August (Week 5). Watch this space for more information on these exciting events.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!
