Weekly Events - Week 2B Term 2

Dear students, parents and carers and our wonderful MAHS community,

Welcome to Week 2B, commencing Monday 5th May. It was great seeing our students back at school after the school holiday period. Term 2 is already shaping up to be a busy term, filled with numerous opportunities to extend on the learning taking place in the classroom!

Now, as you are all aware, Ms. Cavaleri has been offered a relieving position as Acting Principal at Collarenebri Central School for Term 2. So, in the meantime, I will be taking over her role in communicating the weekly events on our social media pages. In addition to this, we have a few changes to our Senior Executive team. Mrs Lindsay will be looking after Years 8 &10, Mr Lovett and I, Mrs Johnson, will be looking after Years 7 &12 and Mrs Reading (nee Alexander) will remain with Years 9 & 11.

As mentioned last week, it is starting to get a little cooler, so students are encouraged to think about layering with white long-sleeved shirts, if needed, as well as jumpers, jackets and pants that can be purchased through our school or Lowes. As a reminder, hoodies, tights and tracksuit pants are not school uniform.

This week, we have our usual clubs up and running, including Breakfast Club, The Hub, Dance Club, Pokémon Club, Reading Club, our school Vocal Ensemble, School Band, Dungeons and Dragons and more. Students should listen to the announcements in roll call and access our noticeboards for more information on these clubs. We also have the continuation of our Support Unit Community Access program, including Pickleball for Years 7 and 8 on Friday and we also have the Respectful Relationships - Big Yellow Umbrella session running for our Support Unit students on Wednesday. Our PATHE Pasifika workshops are also occurring this Thursday, a successful program aimed at empowering our Pasifika students to aspire towards further education and training opportunities to develop and gain new skills and knowledge. Our Yes Programs continue this week for selected Year 10 students and our Year 12 students will be engaging in their report reflections this Wednesday in the Library.

We also have a few events coming up, including Solo Night on Thursday 15th May (Week 3) and our Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 28th May (Week 5). Watch this space for more information on these exciting events!

Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead!

Mrs Johnson
