School is almost back!!

Dear students, parents and carers, and MAHS community,

The first day of  school is fast approaching for all students.  School returns for all students on Thursday 6th February and is known as Week 1A.  Students should be at school by no later than 8.45am, so students can be directed to their assembly areas to receive their timetables and an outline of the year ahead.  Details as to year assembly areas will be published on Facebook and our website on Wednesday this week.

For our Year 7 2025 students, you will be gathering in the school hall on Thursday 6th February with your parents/carers by 9am for a welcome to high school address and also to hear about our school expectations.  For the benefit of parents/carers, this morning address will be finalised by no later than 9.30am.

Due to the high demand of families accessing the uniform store, Ms Groat will be opening the school uniform store on Monday 3rd February (tomorrow) from 9am to 12pm.   Attached to this post are a reminder of our Junior School Uniform requirements and Junior Book Requirements to support families.  The junior book requirements guide lists all book requirements for Years 7 to 10. This one stop document makes it a little easier for families where you have more than one child over the years to identify what needs to be purchased.  If you are a Year 7 parent/carer that has purchased a book pack, you will not need to buy additional items unless you did not purchase a calculator.

As a reminder from my earlier post in January, our junior uniform requirements are outlined to support our families and to ensure we all have the same understanding of our school uniform.  We are still in the transitional phase from grey to black pants and shorts for juniors, but if you are buying a new uniform, please purchase the black.   In relation to shoes, it is important when purchasing shoes that you purchase complete black leather or complete black suede leather.  Shoes vary in price from Big W to Platypus, but all stores observed this break have black leather shoes to ensure students can meet completion of mandatory course requirements as well as health and safety requirements.  The senior school blouse/shirt and MAHS tie can only be purchased through our school uniform store, so please access the school uniform store tomorrow if you do not already have a senior uniform.

We also have our upcoming Swimming Carnival on Monday 10th February at Camden Memorial Pools.  If you have not yet confirmed your attendance through School Bytes, please attend to this asap.  For our Year 7 parents/carers, please continue to return your hard copy note for this event as school bytes for Year 7 students is not yet available until students are officially enrolled at our school.

We look forward to a most amazing year with our students and community and continue to look to our post on Wednesday this week around the school return on Thursday 6th February 2025.
