Weekly Events - Week 5A

Dear students, parents and carers, and MAHS community,

Welcome to Week 5A commencing Monday 11th November. On Monday, the school will acknowledge ‘Remembrance Day’.  We remind students that Remembrance Day, on 11 November, is a time to recognise and remember those who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peace operations.  It is also significant in that this is the anniversary of the Armistice of 1918 that ended fighting in World War 1.  We look forward to sharing the importance of this day with our students.

As Year 12 have now completed their HSC Examinations, we do wish them the best in their future.  We also look forward to celebrating their schooling achievements with their Formal on Tuesday and then their Graduation on Thursday this week.  We remind our Year 12 students that they must attend school on Thursday during period 1 and 2 in the library to officially sign out and to complete their dress rehearsal for graduation.

Other events this week include the continuation of our Peer Tutor Reading Program at Currans Hill Public School on Tuesday, our Year 11 Standard English students attending the ‘Past the Shallows’ excursion on Wednesday, as well as the continuation of extra transition days for students transitioning from primary to high school on Wednesday so that they feel ready for high school.  We then have on Thursday our Year 7 Swim School for Year 7 Girls at Mount Annan Leisure Centre and then on Friday our Support Unit will continue their various Community Access programs.

Lastly, school uniform is important and now that we have come into summer, students should be wearing their summer uniform.  Students are reminded that if you have a practical sport class period 1, you must come to school dressed in your summer school uniform and then get changed for this lesson.

Wishing everyone a fantastic week, and be amazing, do good things, and put your rubbish in the bin.
