On Friday 24th August selected Year 10 boys attended the Young Men's Health Forum at Bankstown Sports Club run by the Conviction Group supporting young men's mental health.
The forum aims to encourage young males to re-evaluate their perspectives on the pivotal issues concerning young men's health and provide them with the tools to enhance decision-making. The forum uses a combination of keynote speakers and small discussion sessions to help young men have a conversation about a range of important issues concerning their health and wellbeing. Areas covered were "Being a Man, Mental Health, Kindness, Drugs, Violence and Decision making".
Role models such as Jihad Dib (Shadow Minister for Education), Robert Crithlow (The Hills Police Commander), Matthew Caruana, Kathy Kelly, Keiran Billett, Chris Lee and Marco Capobianco (Co-Founders of Conviction Group) were instrumental with their motivating talks and commitment to Young Men's Mental Health.
All students involved had a fantastic day and will benefit with the skills and knowledge they received to become better male role models at Mount Annan High School.
