Our Library

New Library

Mount Annan High School Library

Our Library was established in 2003. The library is the hub of the school and often hums with activity.

It is a Resource Centre that is used by students and staff.

The library is open:

Monday 8:30am-3:30pm

Tuesday 8:50am-2:10pm

Wednesday 8:30am-3:30pm

Thursday 8:30am-4:00pm

Friday 8:50am-3:30pm and available to students at recess and lunch.

The library is a quiet space where students can read quietly, play board games, complete classwork, homework or assignments.

The library contains a collection of over 14,000 physical resources including books and references. The book collection includes Fiction, Senior Fiction, Picture Books, Non-Fiction and Teacher Resources.

Students are encouraged to share their ideas about reading and the books that they love to read. Students can borrow 2 books for 2 weeks and they are able to renew books if they need to. All students are encouraged to borrow books for the school holidays.

Every student is issued a Library ID Card in Year 7. If the card is lost or stolen please ask the student to come and see us to order another card.

The Library system that we use in NSW Government schools is OLIVER.

Premiers Reading Challenge

The Premiers Reading Challenge (http://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc) is a NSW government initiative and its aim is to encourage students to read. We support the PRC challenge in our Year 7 Library classes. All the books in the PRC collection are labelled and easy to locate.

The Library also supports Scholastic Bookclub. Students can collect order forms and order books on-line via the Scholastic Website.
