In Drama, students can communicate in complex and powerful ways how they perceive the world. They can investigate, shape and symbolically represent ideas, interests, concerns, feelings, attitudes, beliefs and their consequences. Drama can reflect the external world and the inner world of thoughts and feelings through fictional contexts. Learning experiences in Drama are provided which involve the intellect, emotions, imagination and body, and engage the whole person. Self-confidence, motivation and self-esteem are developed through the devising, workshopping, rehearsing and performing of individual and collaborative works.
Mount Annan High School has an exciting and high achieving Drama Department that caters for and reflects the gifted and talented needs of our students. The Board of Studies Drama course is taught through the implementation of exciting and innovative programs including playbuilding, theatresports, mime, masks and film.

Extra-curricular Activities
The senior and junior Drama courses are supported by a variety of extra-curricular options. Our showcase evenings are a hit with many friends and family in attendance to see our professionally run events. The subject is also supported by relevant excursions to see current and topical plays as well as participation in various workshops run by national theatre and Drama companies. Theatresports workshops are provided for all students with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in Mount Annan High School's Theatresports Competitions.
