Mount Annan High School offers several opportunities for enrichment and high potential and gifted education students. These opportunities include scholarships and our Enrichment Class for our Year 7 students. We have reflected on our application process and are introducing a stronger connection between our scholarships and school opportunities and how our enrichment class is selected.
Domains
Sporting
Our sporting scholarship recognises talented student-athletes, providing financial and personal support to help them excel both academically and in their chosen sport. This scholarship nurtures sporting potential while encouraging a balanced approach to education and training.
Academic
Our academic scholarship rewards high-achieving students who demonstrate excellence in their studies and a commitment to learning. It provides resources and encouragement to help them reach their full academic potential and pursue future opportunities.
Leadership
Our leadership scholarship recognises students who demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and a commitment to positive change within their school or community. It provides mentoring and development opportunities to empower future leaders and foster personal growth.
Creative and Performing Arts
The CAPA scholarship supports gifted students in music, dance, drama, and visual arts, offering opportunities to develop their creative talents through specialised programs and mentoring. It fosters artistic growth alongside academic achievement.
Scholarships Details
Our scholarships are valued at $500 each for the selected students based on their application. Our Leadership scholarship will now connect to our Year 7 SRC Representative Body for Terms 1 and 2, with an opportunity for re-election to hold the SRC position from Term 3 2027 to Term 2 2028. Our Sporting scholarship will now connect to our Year 7 Sporting Captain selection.
Students who receive the Academic scholarship will be placed directly into the enrichment program ‘Beyond the Classroom’.

Beyond the Classroom
Our Beyond the Classroom enrichment program seeks to deepen students’ learning through innovative teaching and challenging activities, all within a supportive environment that encourages growth and exploration.
Debating and Public Speaking
Our debating and public speaking programs offer the opportunity to compete with surrounding schools and develop valuable communication skills. Students are mentored by outstanding English teachers, who inspire and guide us to achieve our best.
Creative and Performing Arts
Dance is offered as part of the Year 11-12 curriculum, providing students with a chance to explore movement and creativity, while our after-school dance club offers additional opportunities to develop skills in a supportive environment. Students can also participate in band club and join the media team, with showcase events like MAAD Night and CAPA Night giving everyone the chance to celebrate their talents and achievements.
Sydney Opera House Performance
The In Concert event at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall celebrates the musical talents of NSW public school students. This annual event features a large choir of secondary students performing with the NSW Public Schools Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles. In Concert is a major performing arts experience offered by The Arts Unit, NSW Department of Education.
