High potential and gifted education

At Mount Annan High School, we are committed to delivering High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) that encompasses a wide range of activities and opportunities designed to challenge and inspire our students. Through a variety of academic, cultural, sporting and extracurricular activities, we provide pathways for high potential and gifted students to develop their skills, explore their interests, and reach their full potential. We create an inclusive and supportive environment that recognises and nurtures each student’s unique strengths, encouraging them to embrace challenges and pursue their passions with confidence.

High potential and gifted education is delivered in-class, across the whole school and across NSW.

What is high potential and gifted education?

High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

We do this through:

Our high potential and gifted education opportunities

Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.

In our classroom

In our classrooms at Mount Annan High School:

  • Our teachers engage in professional learning to support the diverse needs of all students. Including high potential and gifted learners.
  • We have in place an enrichment program in Years 7 and 8 for our HPGE students. We run programs, such as 'Beyond the Classroom' to engage our students in HPGE domains to identify and excel their talents.
